About Me
My name is David Walsh. I’m a 27 year old Web Developer from Madison, Wisconsin. In the web world, I am:
- Founder and Lead Developer for Wynq Web Labs.
- Core Developer for the MooTools JavaScript framework.
- Co-Founder of Script & Style, a website aimed at making web developers and designers better.
- Co-Founder of Band Website Template.
I don’t design the websites – I make them work.
What languages do you use and specialize in?
The majority of my time is spent with XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (MooTools and jQuery), PHP, MySQL, and XML. My talent lies in implementing AJAX and JavaScript effects that enhance the functionality of the website and the site’s appeal. I also have experience with ASP, ColdFusion, and Java/JSP. I’m quick to pick up any language I need to.
How many websites have you worked on?
I’ve worked on hundreds of websites, from personal websites, small business websites, eCommerce websites, all the way up to enterprise websites. I’ve completed every piece of projects, including domain, DNS, and hosting management.
What do you do in your spare time?
I’m not the stereotypical programmer. I’m a sports fanatic — I’ll watch soccer, football, and basketball whenever I get the chance. I play indoor and outdoor soccer depending on the season. I own both the X-Box 360 and wii and enjoy them as a way to relieve the stress of long hours (I also envy those game programmers!). I’m also a movie nut — my DVD library would make MGM drop their jaw. Lastly, I blog about programming and the web in general.

I’m always available for book reviewing as I enjoy reading a technical programming book. I’m occasionally available for consulting or freelance opportunities depending on the time. Please contact me if you’d like to speak about these type of opportunities.
